He has bequeathed to future generations a vast and profound legacy in the fields of medicine and culture, which holds enduring and significant value in various aspects and continues to demonstrate practical relevance in society to this day)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c, with the title H\u1ea3i Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng L\u00e3n \u00d4ng (1724 &#8211; 1791), was originally from V\u0103n X\u00e1 village, Li\u00eau X\u00e1 commune, \u0110\u01b0\u1eddng H\u00e0o district, Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng H\u1ed3ng prefecture (now Li\u00eau X\u00e1 commune, Y\u00ean M\u1ef9 district, H\u01b0ng Y\u00ean province). He passed away in his mother&#8217;s hometown, B\u1ea7u Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng region, T\u0129nh Di\u1ec7m commune, H\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u01a1n district, H\u00e0 T\u0129nh province (now S\u01a1n Quang commune, H\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u01a1n district, H\u00e0 T\u0129nh province), at the age of 67.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c was born into a scholarly family. His father, L\u00ea H\u1eefu M\u01b0u, achieved the third-rank doctoral degree, serving as Th\u1ecb lang in the Ministry of Public Works under the reign of Emperor L\u00ea D\u1ee5 T\u00f4ng. He held the position of Ng\u1ef1 s\u1eed and was granted the title B\u00e1 after his passing, posthumously receiving the title Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng th\u01b0. His mother was B\u00f9i Th\u1ecb Th\u01b0\u1edfng.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1108\" style=\"width: 319px; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/pctumuseum-831c87.ingress-haven.ewp.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During his childhood, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c accompanied his father to study in the capital Th\u0103ng Long (now Hanoi). Renowned for his intelligence and academic excellence, he had a broad understanding and excelled in poetry. In the year K\u1ef7 M\u00f9i (1739), his father passed away, leading L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c to discontinue his formal education. However, he continued his self-directed studies at home, later taking the entrance examination for the Tam Tr\u01b0\u1eddng but eventually deciding not to pursue further formal examinations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Living within the ranks of the Tr\u1ecbnh army, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c witnessed firsthand the disintegration of the feudal government and the suffering of the people. Therefore, when he received news of his older brother&#8217;s death in H\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u01a1n, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c used this as a pretext to request permission to return home and take care of his mother. He made the decision to leave the Tr\u1ecbnh army.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After returning home for a short period, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c fell seriously ill. Seeking treatment, he approached the physician Tr\u1ea7n \u0110\u1ed9c in R\u00fa Th\u00e0nh (Ngh\u1ec7 T\u0129nh) and spent over a year recuperating there. Borrowing medical books for reading, he realized the practical benefits of the medical profession for himself and others. With a determined spirit, he decided to pursue the study of medicine. Upon recovering from his illness, despite an invitation from a Tr\u1ecbnh general to join the military, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c resolutely declined. He was steadfast in his determination to focus on the study and practice of medicine to help people.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the autumn of the year B\u00ednh T\u00fd (1756), L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c went to the capital to further his studies but couldn&#8217;t find a skilled teacher. He purchased additional medical books and returned to H\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u01a1n to conduct research while simultaneously providing medical care to the local residents. Within ten years, he became renowned throughout the Hoan Ch\u00e2u region (Ngh\u1ec7 T\u0129nh).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1109\" style=\"width: 495px; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/pctumuseum-831c87.ingress-haven.ewp.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starting from 1760, L\u00ea H\u1eefu Tr\u00e1c established a teaching course in medicine, delving into the classical Chinese medical texts and combining them with traditional medicine. Over 26 years, he compiled the monumental medical work &#8220;H\u1ea3i Th\u01b0\u1ee3ng Y T\u00f4ng T\u00e2m L\u0129nh,&#8221; consisting of 28 volumes and 66 books, making it a significant contribution to the field of medicine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the 12th day of the 1st month in the year C\u1ea3nh H\u01b0ng 43 (1782), Lord Tr\u1ecbnh summoned L\u00e3n \u00d4ng to treat the Crown Prince Tr\u1ecbnh C\u00e1n. Despite his reluctance to seek fame and recognition, L\u00e3n \u00d4ng had to bid farewell to his homeland and travel to the capital. While the Crown Prince&#8217;s condition improved with the medicine, L\u00e3n \u00d4ng himself found it difficult to recover.
